🗣️ Say these out loud
- Comment dit-on … en français ? 🔊 ko-MON dee-TON … on fron-SAY How do you say … in French? The question that teaches you every other word for the rest of your life.
- Vous pouvez répéter, s'il vous plaît ? 🔊 voo poo-VAY ray-pay-TAY Can you repeat that, please? Real French is fast. This phrase slows the world down.
- Qu'est-ce que ça veut dire ? 🔊 kess-kuh sa vuh DEER What does that mean? Literally 'what does that want to say' — a lovely way to put it.
- Je m'entraîne tous les jours. 🔊 zhuh mon-TREN too lay ZHOOR I practise every day. Tous les jours — every day. The only method that has ever worked.
- Petit à petit, l'oiseau fait son nid. 🔊 puh-TEE ta puh-TEE, lwa-ZO fay son NEE Little by little, the bird builds its nest. A French proverb, and the honest truth about learning a language.
- Bon courage ! 🔊 bon koo-RAZH Good luck — keep going! Said to anyone facing something hard. Say it to yourself.
Read every line aloud twice before moving on. The mouth learns a language, not the eye.
🔍 What to do when the course ends
A language survives on contact, not on study. Fifteen minutes of real French every day beats three hours on a Sunday, because memory is rebuilt by repetition across days, not by length in one sitting.
- Change your phone to French for one week — you already know what every menu does.
- Watch one cartoon episode you know by heart, dubbed in French, with French subtitles.
- Write two lines a day. Two lines. Every day.
- Say your thoughts aloud in French while walking. Nobody is listening.
🌍 Among the people
The French Institute and Alliance Française run centres in most Indian cities and set the DELF examinations — A1 after roughly this course, then A2, B1, B2. A B2 certificate is what a university abroad asks for.

- Go back to Lesson 1 and read it aloud. Notice how much is now simply yours.
- Set a daily alarm labelled 'deux minutes de français'.
- Teach Lesson 1 to somebody else this week — teaching is the strongest revision there is.
