📋 The pattern
- Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (or Biology for B.Pharm), plus English Proficiency and Logical Reasoning
- 130 questions in 3 hours — a much faster paper than JEE Main
- Marking: +3 correct, −1 incorrect
- Computer-based; a candidate who finishes all 130 with time left is offered 12 bonus questions, which cannot be revisited
- Admission is by BITSAT score alone, subject to a Class 12 marks requirement
✅ Who can sit it
At least 75 per cent aggregate in PCM (or PCB) in Class 12, with at least 60 per cent in each subject.
💡 What candidates get wrong
- BITSAT is a speed test. The questions are easier than JEE Main's but there are more of them and less time — roughly 83 seconds each.
- The English and Logical Reasoning section is 30 questions that most JEE candidates never prepare for, and it is the easiest place to gain a large number of marks.
- Cut-offs are published each year and move; they are high because admission rests on this one score.
